Don’t cut it back like that. Cut it back as far as the node that has a shoot coming out of it. You’ll get much more blooms for longer. Trust me.

just don't do that it can still bloom if the stem is green if is dry then it will not bloom at all

too much work and complicated, i just sprinkle ground garlic after cutting the spent flowers and it blooms again in no time
