It is cool but they are systematically removing the human element. Even banks are doing this. More job loss, unemployment is already too high. It’s not like these businesses can’t afford to pay salaries!

Smart trolley is more for Checkers than for consumers. This way they'll have data of the customer they can tell if you have a new house are getting divorced or just had a baby. This way they can have targeted ads. Killing other competitors. By location.

Gosh, the comments about unemployment are so short sighted. I work for an IT & software development B2B. As a start up, the company has just over 1000 remote employees at different branches around Argentina. They're now expanding their services to other countries with their employees still based in Argentina while working "alongside" international remote workers across LATAM, NAM, Africa, Europe and parts of Asia. Technology is the future, we should be excited that our country is sticking with the times, it's a good sign that there is investment interest in helping our country advance. Yes it's unfortunate that people will not be able to work at store level, but it's up to us to push the government to start upskilling people in the country, start teaching kids valuable skills at school level. These smart trollies aren't going to manufacture themselves, develop themselves, QA themselves, maintain themselves.

We have this in Germany. Nobody will lose their jobs. There are some people who will prefer this and other people who prefer the ‚old fashion‘ way because interaction is also good sometimes.
