A few things. Ohio is not a red state; Ohio is a purple state victimized by Republicans gerrymandering. Kroger is laying off FEWER than 1000 corporate jobs. And it’s not exclusive to Cincinnati. And it’s not just “FAFO”. Kroger was doing poorly and the failed merger with Albertsons is definitely a factor here.

Red states may be laying off...but businesses are packing up and leaving blue states. Chicago's "Magnificent Mile" has half the business licences today compared to 2015.
