No. The kids aren’t ready for it. If they could use it responsibly yes. The difference is is I have already learned the material and how to teach, if I use it I use it to make my lessons better, not to learn it. The students don’t know the material and use it as a substitute to learning it

Use school AI. It has protections for kids. Never never let them use chat gtp.

I think it’s too dangerous for kids to use especially when adults are still LEARNING how to use it. And the rate in which the technology is developing is hard for the average user to keep up with. I still think middle and elementary schoolers shouldn’t have cell phones and should actually have textbooks!

This isn’t really an issue for students honestly. The use of ai is unavoidable unless you create a false narrative where it doesn’t exist. It’s real, it’s helpful, teach them how to use it

School librarian here as well, part of our job is digital citizenship and teaching our students how to use media safely, respectfully and responsibly. And that includes AI and how to use it effectively but we shouldn’t rely on it to do the work for us.

I feel like you should let children use AI in class but you need to say it's very strict guidelines on what is and is inappropriate no you cannot use AI direct your entire assignment or do all the work for you but you can use it to give you a list of ideas for what you should do for a project

I heard an expert say kids should use it in progression. They have to learn concepts first before letting AI do it for them. For example, writing complete sentences.
