15 Cities in 15 Days with 4 Kids Day 8: Füssen + Neuschwanstein Castle Treetop Trail: 5 Euro per person, kids are free! I wish we had stayed longer, because there are many nature trails and an indoor exhibit with hands-on interactive stations for the kids. BUT we had to get to Neuschwanstein, because our tour was scheduled for 1:45 p.m., and it’s about a 35-40 minute walk from the parking lot to get to the castle. You can take a shuttle or a horse drawn carriage, but they do cost money, so we decided to walk. You need to be on time because you must enter with your timed tour group. No photos or videos are allowed inside the castle, but the throne room was one of the most beautiful rooms I’ve ever seen in my life. After touring the castle, I would recommend walking another 30 minutes to Marienbrücke, a suspension bridge with incredible views of the castle. It’s free to visit, so even if you don’t pay to tour the castle, you can still do this. There can be a lot of walking involved in this day, so choose your outfit and shoes accordingly. After Neuschwanstein we checked into our hotel in Füssen: Hotel Schlosskrone. We had 2 quad rooms there, and the breakfast was included and SO good. We walked around Füssen - an adorable town, then got dinner. I can’t remember the name of the restaurant, but we tried some traditional German dishes like Käsespätzle, Wienerschnitzel, and German sausages. I had a limoncello spritz which was beautiful and delicious! This was an EPIC travel day, and I really would love to go back and spend more time in this region. #travelwithkids #familytravelcreator #fussen #neuschwanstein #germanytiktok #germanytravel #bavaria
