as a certified yuri scholar my take on the post is that the original tweet is perpetuating this weird belief ive seen a lot of people say that in Asia lesbians/gay people in general dont really exist and its all a phase that people go through. and while some yuri can use a concept like this well (Run Away With Me, Girl! kinda), most of the time only yuribait does this due to reasons usually involving homophobia on the side of the author/publisher.

They're sorta right, Yuri isn't inherently LGBT. It's about pure girl-love and admiring feminity. LGBT manga is a segment of the market but they're not entirely the same thing as Yuri and yaoi.
