it is illegal to detain based on don't know or not sure yet. You have every right to walk away if you record them saying we don't know yet, we're trying to figure it out, or we're not sure. They'll then try to scare you with being charged with obstruction. This is a completely opinion based charged. Which will always be exaggerated later to the boss. Just record to a cloud server at all times.
