the only reason we are going to have a right wing leaning future is because the right wing are currently cutting education funding and banning books. you don't follow your parents political leanings when you have access to proper education.

Honestly I do wonder as well how many people actually just don’t want children. A generation or two ago it was kinda socially unacceptable not to. I imagine that’s still the case in more conservative families.

the main reason is left wing people are too busy getting an education and getting professional jobs. small c conservatives (esp. reform voters) left school and started popping out kids with no concern on how to *actually* raise them properly. the intro to idiocracy was very prescient...
