This is my current address. You won’t find it on any map, but trust me, it’s a very real place. I’m still in the soul-sucking 9-5 grind, but the last 7 months since making my first post on social media have changed the direction of my life in the best way possible. Is it still exhausting? Hell yeah. The minute I get home from working a 10hr day, I’m spending another 4-5 hours per night building my dream business so I can have a life I’m excited to wake up to every morning. Instead of the dreaded alarm clock. The irony of working harder at a new “job” to escape an old one isn’t lost on me. Being a 38 y/o woman who wants to”more” for the sole purpose of doing less is one of the loneliest places I’ve ever found myself in. I’m confused. I’m stressed. Some days my husband and family feel like I’ve abandoned them. And I can’t say they’re wrong. And yet I know in my soul the path I’m on now is where I’m meant to be. For someone whose struggled with mental illness most of my life, it’s the ultimate test of resilience, mixed with crushing thoughts of potential failure and pure, undiluted joy.
