i’m a firefighter/paramedic and just last week had a patient who was just brutally SAed and the female officer was so insanely rude and dismissive of everything she was saying! when i saw the poor girl crying because of how nasty she was being, after i had just calmed her down, i told the officer she can exit my rig and can meet us and talk to her later but i needed to get my patient to the hospital. she said “are you fr right now?! i’m not the one you should be having attitude with, she’s the one who started this bs and wasting our time” and points right at her and i was shocked! the girl just kept thanking me after and i told her id stay with her at the ER if she’d like, until her family got there, so that’s what i did. of course that officer came back and told me i had to leave, patient told her no, i said im not going anywhere if she wants me here and it just kept getting worse so i just had to ask for her supervisor, it was genuinely so unbelievable and i was about to crash out😭she was a perfect angel when he came of course but thankfully she had took videos, we showed him and he came back, apologized, thanked me for advocating for her and he took over from there and was so empathetic and caring. ive never reported an officer before but i did that day, so did my partner, our patient and even the sheriff who was on scene. i cant fathom how you can be in this field, seeing someone so vulnerable, during the worst moments of their life, and be so heartless! i’m so sorry you went through that hun, im glad at least of one of the officers was clearly very empathetic and believed every word you were saying🩷
