@mamaaa9204: Rachel Morningstar Hoffman was a recent graduate from Florida State University. She was smart, caring, and full of dreams for the future. But in 2008, a minor drug charge put her in the hands of police. Instead of giving her a second chance, the Tallahassee Police pressured Rachel to become a confidential informant. She was told to meet two suspected drug dealers. Police gave her thousands of dollars in cash and even a wire to record the deal. But here’s the horrifying part , they sent her in completely alone. No backup close by, no protection, just Rachel facing dangerous criminals. The deal went terribly wrong. The suspects, Deneilo Bradshaw and Andrea Green, realized Rachel was working with police. They kidnapped her, drove her away, and murdered her. She was only 23 years old. The case sparked outrage. People questioned how law enforcement could put a young woman, untrained and scared, in such a deadly situation. Her death became a turning point and inspired “Rachel’s Law” in Florida meant to protect confidential informants and ensure no one else would be recklessly placed in danger like she was. Rachel should have had her whole life ahead of her. Instead, her story is a painful reminder of what happens when people are treated as disposable.
