Today, Bella crossed the rainbow bridge, and my heart is broken. A little over a week ago, she unexpectedly became sick. She declined so quickly, with symptoms of central nervous system issues (nystagmus, balance issues), unable to see, eat/drink, and walk then probable brain tumor, I had to make one of the hardest decisions of my life. She was only five years young and would have turned six this December. It feels so unfair that our time together had to end so soon. Bella was my constant sidekick. She was always there to cuddle, greet me with hugs when I came home, and curl up beside me at night. She truly believed she was a lap dog, even though she never seemed to realize how big she was. She was such a good girl. I’ve loved other dogs, and Bella does have a sister at home whom I love just as much. But Bella was her own kind of special. She was the original Isabella, and there will never be another dog like her. Making the decision to let her go was incredibly hard. Feeling her take her last breath, holding her as she became still, and then walking away without her and going home without her are moments I will carry with me. I know I made the decision out of love, but that doesn’t make the goodbye hurt any less. Animals are family. They love us without conditions, and they become our people just as we become theirs. Losing them brings real, deep grief, and I will grieve Bella with all the love I have for her. I’m sharing this in remembrance of my sweet girl because she was so special to me, and she deserves to be remembered. I love you, Bella. Thank you for being my constant. 🤍 ##ilovemybella##heartsbroken💔💔💔##nomorepain
