So yesterday was a tough day for us and we are still waiting on news for our Lily. We all know she has an auto immune disease called Pemphigus Foliation which can flare up. And yesterday we saw during feeding that her eye was swollen shut so we rushed her to the vet. We live in fear of relapses for her as it means strong steroids to manage her condition and stall rest for a long time until the condition settles. And none of us want that for her. This video was taken the night before her eye swelled up and she was fine and doing well. The vet at the moment thinks it might just be an allergic reaction or insect bite and we are praying that’s right. It’s a complicated disease to manage and last year we did so well not having a relapse. The issue is that each time she has one she needs stronger steroids to kick it down until eventually they don’t work any longer. And that would be a tragedy. “Pemphigus foliaceus (PF) in horses is a rare, autoimmune skin disease where the horse’s immune system attacks healthy skin cells. This leads to characteristic lesions like blisters, crusts, and hair loss, often starting on the face and legs. Treatment typically involves long-term immunosuppressant medication, including steroids, to manage the disease and prevent complications.” So we wait and hope that this isn’t a flare up and it was so good to see beautiful Blue Moon making friends with Dollar and Dakoda by her side as ever. ASOIAF RANT BELOW (you’ve been warned lol): people misconstrue dany’s last adwd chapter where she embraces fire and blood as her ‘going mad’ when, if you’ve actually read and understood the book, it’s her realising that sometimes you have to use fire and blood in order to end a system of violent oppression— sometimes you have to fight fire with fire. she spends the entirety of adwd refusing to use her dragons at all because she fears the loss of innocent life, but innocent people still d!e anyways at the hands of the masters. she literally agrees to another marriage in order to try and find a peaceful way to end support for slavery in meereen and STILL it is not enough to stop the masters violence. her embracing fire and blood is not her losing her sanity, but realising that her current way of negotiating with the extremely violent masters is not working. when she reigns down fire and blood on the masters in twow and successfully liberates meereen, volantis, astapor, etc, it will be a good thing. daenerys’ entire arc is about fighting for humanity, whether it’s against the slave masters in essos or the others in westeros. the asoiaf fandom is one of the only fandoms where you’ll find people going “what about the slave masters?😫😫” in their effort to demonise a woman using the power she has gained to help others. so many ‘dany anti’ talking points are just straight up slavery apologia and it’s gross. people can’t stand the thought that she might be the main hero of the series, not their male fav, despite grrm having explicitly stated that DAENERYS is the ‘fire’ in asoiaf and THE OTHERS are the ‘ice’. ‘mad queen dany’ and other such theories where her power is stripped from her and given to lesser characters is a bunch of copium. grrm’s writing itself and the subsequent interviews he has given over the years make it clear that is NOT the story he is telling and his ending will have nothing to do with d&d’s misogynistic fanfic. let. it. go. - n e ways, if you read all that, you deserve a cookie 🫶🫶 stan daenerys targaryen for clear skin! - #daenerystargaryen #asoiaf #edit #daenerystargaryenedit #gameofthrones #asoiafedit #asongoficeandfire #fyp #bookdaenerystargaryen #foryoupage #virall
