@beyeperfect: The Mesha Stele, also called the Moabite Stone, was discovered in 1868 at Dhiban, Jordan. Dating to around 840 BC, it was commissioned by King Maysha of Moab after his rebellion against Israel. Written in the Moabite language and script, it boasts of victories over the House of Omri (Israel’s royal dynasty) and includes one of the earliest extra-biblical mentions of Israel’s God , the Tetragrammaton (yod-heh-vav-heh). This account parallels Second Kings 3, which describes Maysha’s revolt. The stele is one of the most important inscriptions confirming Israel’s history from the perspective of its enemies.
