My mom told me attachments are more likely to stick to you when you are going through dark times, when our vibrations are low. Maybe something attached to you during your addiction and never really detached from you and pops up even in your recovery? When I got out of DV situation, my mom said she could see attachments around me. I don’t think they stuck though.

I’ve had similar experiences. I went to get hell and the Doctors have decided I have bipolar because of it and now I’m on lithium & antipsychotics. But it all still happens.

100% believe smug use makes you more vulnerable, I used to partake and did tarot when I was flying high because I felt like when I wasn't overthinking and stressing I felt more free and could lean into the reading more. I didnt fight what was being told I just took it and understood it and felt they were more accurate. since then though the visions around the flat were more often, that figure I see in the hallway was there more, I had nightmares more, a dark patch appeared in the hallway carpet where id see this figure standing. I always had dreams of seeing a figure crouching and peering through my attic door, and now I have motion sensor cameras for when I leave my dog at home, they often jump and pan to the attic door and it makes my blood go cold
