My father is hakka from guangzhou who settled in Singapore neighborhood with Fujian and swatow residents so I understood almost all said except for one for as a kid I spoke to all using their dialects.

and the fact that there are more dialects that wouldn't understand each other if you go inside of each city for example like jiangmen, i grew up speaking the Cantonese standard from Guangzhou, but I kinda heard maoming since my mom is from there, and then I married a jiangmen, but his dialect is different than the jiangmen city we hear here and I wouldnt be able to understand taishanese which is a small county in jiangmen (my husband is from another small county in jiangmen) and my son speak a mix of my dialect and my husband dialect 🤣

廣州、深圳、珠海、佛山、江門（有點歪，但聽得明）、茂名（有點歪，但聽得明）、肇慶（用詞不一樣，但聽得明）、惠州（有點不一樣，但聽得明）、清遠、東莞、中山（有點歪，但聽得明）、雲浮，都是講同一種話，不要在誤導別人，另外有兩個講明是客家話就不是廣東話…..😅😅😅😅
