well done you!! I'm an NL woman in IRL and I was/am in the same position. My parents split and my narc mom poisened my 2 siblings against me (incl my twin brother). An aunt told me last Oct that she had passed. My sister just recently wrote me a letter summing up how i deliberately hurt my mother for leaving over 20 years ago. I'm not responding, as they would never understand. I had a different mother than they had.

I can’t fathom the idea that family can be that hateful and abandon a kid for just how it is. I lost my direct family (or the idea I had one) two years ago, and as you, I said to my mom that the only goal I had in life is to NEVER EVER be like her with my daughter.
