@alpha.rm: The City of Joburg has “completed” phase one of repairs to Lilian Ngoyi Street (formerly Bree Street) in the CBD. The road has been surfaced with paving bricks instead of the traditional tar. The route was destroyed by an underground gas explosion two years ago. #johannesburg #joburgcbd #Breestreet #Dadamorero
Here me out 🧍🏾 put some coffee shops and some art galleries and only allow legal vendors to operate there boom we have another Rosebank in the making

My problem is this going to last I hope these contractors are doing a proper job because paving if not laid properly and JHB with its summer rains and water starts find its way through the joints of that paving. The paving will start lifting and it will be difficult to drive on or walk. Why not use the traditional tar which is much better and will last longer because busses mainly use that road and is heavy load with big tyres🥵

That road is used by 1000 taxis and 500 busses per hour. That pavement wont even last 3 months😏

It looks great, like a European country. I also support this because anyone can fix it if there’s a problem. Unlike tar that requires special materials to fix 👏🏾

Yes it’s worth it. European cities are using cobble stones instead of tar. It’s modern and neat
