Well, to be fair, this has been going on since the invention of car loans. I’ve never done it. Paying rent and student loans are already enough of a burden. I can drive an old, very dependable Japanese or Korean car.

Lots of people in their 20s are still at home while earning 2k a month, they can afford it. A car is mostly a luxury, an optional luxury should never stretch you or put you in a vulnerable position

Have to admit I did finance for my current car. Regret it so much. It's contract over in June so I'll be buying a used car out right. Can't wait to have that monthly payment go away

Always lease a car in the UK, & always rent a car abroad as insurance is covered with any decent credit card.
