On top of the civil Rights violation they just blew the original case too, fruit of the poisonous tree. None of that evidence will be admissible and any subsequent investigation resulting from the drives is tainted.

they were in the wrong it will probably be proven, the bar owner will probably win a lawsuit, and not one negative thing will happen to the detective or policeman that illegally seized the equipment, so why do they care, they'll laugh it off

now they lose the chance to use any of that evidence in court. seriously it would have taken 45 minutes to get a judge to sign off on a warrant. I've seen them leave dead bodies lay in a house while they got a warrant to go in rather than go check on them. but for this we go right in? something's up. and the fact that the bar owner is an attorney chef's kiss.
