Police are all over the place here at Burning Man 24 seven. And Burning Man pays them to be here. So BM did not stop police at the gate at Burning Man.

Burning man has its own police force and they are police officers. I’m pretty sure you have to put in a bid to work with the event and I think from what I hear cops look forward to it. Burning Man is an incredible experience. However, with 70k people, there will be a few bad apples. Personally I blame it going viral and it losing some of its IYKYK Burning Man principles. With that much growth and add social media, some people are going for the wrong reasons. I would still say overwhelmingly it is a safe and amazing experience. I am so sorry these ladies had such a horrible experience, truly hoping they see justice

Burning Man is the most policed festival in North America. Local police, and every 3 letter agency there is. This is the first murder they've had in almost 40 years. People do die every year but normally they just get drunk and fall off the artwork, etc.
