Intensely strong PR/brand management vibes from all these new Rock clips. Crying, wearing glasses, critical of the industry. It’s seems too much all at once making it an obvious, conscious decision to side-step into something new… but it’s so insincere.

Love The Rock but I’m calling bs, he pigeonholed himself for over a decade, playing the same character in a almost every movie, didn’t take challenging roles, played it safe, stayed chasing a big box office success as opposed to a great film, he chose quantity over quality. Glad to see he’s finally doing something different and I can’t wait for The Smashing Machine

the difference with Batista is he has taken movies for the challenge, the Rock has taken roles for the cheque...there is nothing wrong with that but Batista has been able to develop. I absolutely loved him in Glass onion and knock at the cabin.
