he has reasonable suspicion to believe you are going to committ a crime because you have a flip plate. its very reasonable to assume ur going to go out on the roas with ur plate flipped up if ur parked at a gas station with ur plate flipped up. i feel the coo is completely in the right here

The cop had all the rights to take away his keys because it’s to make sure the rider doesn’t drive away from the cop in a traffic stop a lawyer even proved that this is 100% legal to do and the cop was not in the wrong since he also had the rights to say the drivers plate was lifted up is illegal since lifting or hiding your motorcycle's license plate at a gas station—or anywhere else on public roads—is illegal. Obscuring, flipping, or lifting your plate violates state laws that require plates to be clearly visible and unobstructed at all times. Try to tell me I’m wrong cause I’m not

It is legal for the police to take your keys out of your motorcycle. As long as he gets them back at the end of the traffic stop.

You would not have a license plate that flips up so that cops cannot see it unless you had intentions of doing something illegal. You may not have been doing anything illegal at that point, but you have intent. Stop acting so fucking innocent.
