Milly!! Having my hormones & gut tested was the best thing I’ve ever done - I’m a long term acne sufferer and my skin is the best it’s looked after finding out that’s going on with my insides lol. I’m working with a nutritionist to help balance my hormones & sort out my gut and it’s genuinely changed my life!! I also don’t get painful periods anymore which I was not expecting but is a STUNNING surprise

Birth control pills with only progesterone fixed it for me. I still get my period, but it’s very light and lasts 3 days

I’m 47 and mine have forever been heavy. I was told after a child they would improve…they never did 🙄. And those 1st two days they are still so heavy 😩 The pill did improve them but I’ve not needed it for years as other half as been ✂️

You might have fibroids. I had them surgically removed and now my periods are barely there

I'm studying holistic nutrition and seed cycling is a game changer particularly if you have excess oestrogen! Day 1 - 14 of your cycle have a tablespoon of pumpkin seeds and flax seeds and then day 15 - 28 do sesame seeds and sunflower seeds. Sesame and sunflower seeds help to promote progesterone which will help balance out your oestrogen and the plant based oestrogen from the seeds will help weaken the dominance in your system ❤️Also increase your intake of cruciferous vegetables (eg cauliflower, broccoli, etc) to support oestrogen detox!!

Heavy days are the worst 😮💨 That’s why we made pads + an app that actually measure your flow volume in ml, no more guessing, just real numbers you can show your doc ❤️

Mine used to be like this as well and I had to take so much panadol or Naprogesic (not sure what it’s called in the uk) to slow down my period to just make it manageable - definitely not great for you to do but made it manageable for me at least 🙃

The best advice that I can give you is to an MRI specialised to detect endometriosis, to make sure your super heavy period isn’t a sign of this disease 💕

Yeah that actually makes sense. it's estrogen that makes your endometrium thicker and grow more straight arteries. Progesterone causes the arteries to coil and "stabilizes" the blood supply. So you got an abnormally thick + unstable endometrium = heavy period. We haven't been taught how to fix it yet though I fear

Would you try tranexamic acid? Only thing that’s worked for me especially because I don’t want to tamper with hormones
