@sobermomming: Y’all act like you’ve never seen a parent not drink alcohol before!! LOL But for real… I NEVER imagined an AF partner.. & I just think it’s so cool our kids get to see it. Jon doesn’t have a drinking problem…He’s not in recovery from anything but my daily attitude 😆 & this last year, he hasn’t had a single drink… Not at birthdays, or on vacations….Not after long days (and we have long days)… or hard weeks!! And while he might not think that’s worth celebrating 🥁 🥁 🥁…I do bc I’m the one who’s lived on the other side & I know what it feels like to think a drink is the only way to cope, escape, take the edge off or to feel anything different than what’s going on in your body and your life. This year…Our kids got to watch not one but TWO parents feel it all: Cry, disagree, regulate, &reconnect w/o needing a bottle to get there. That matters to me bc kids see… they feel, they remember… & one day, they’ll reach for what we’ve shown them. So, even if Jon doesn’t need the spotlight. I’m gonna shine it anyway bc not drinking might not seem like a big deal to everyone but I know what it protects. And I know what it models….And I know the world isn’t clapping for this SO I WILL 👏🏽 1 year AF!!! Not bc he had to, but bc he chose to!!!! I’m so proud of you, Jon 💓💓 #AfDad #loveyou
