This tactic used to be done sparingly, but I’ve always hated this tactic. They heavily promoted Chris Brown in “Stomp The Yard” back in the day and he was in and out of the movie in 5 minutes. Or how they acted like Cardi B was a focal point to the JLo led movie “Hustlers”, but she was just a small cameo. Just let the storyline and the leads be enough to sell the public on the film

If you was part of that movie and was the 4th person on the call sheet you would have your own publicist promoting you. It might not be the studio promoting the 4th & 5th co-stars but it would make sense to promote yourself cause another job could come from it…

I don't appreciate when that happens either. However, I think they are trying to reach a younger generation to go see the movie. Denzel and Jeffrey is as good as you can get for us but they may not be as impactful to our Gen Zs.
