As an ex-student in China, I would say that unless you have dietary restrictions (ex: Muslim) then you dont need to carry much food. China literally has so many noodle flavors and brands. The snack selection in China is AMAZING. But if you’re muslim then yes you’ll need to carry noodles and snacks from home because halal noodles/snacks arent common in China. Take sauces cause they taste different in China, spices, medicine cause most meds in China are herbal, skincare is everywhere in China so no need to pack it unless you have prescription skincare. Also if you’re not fair skinned, pack enough foundation and concealer cause their shade range is VERY limited.
