@sophiemorrisofficial: Schwartz spices might look premium on the shelf, but when you look at what’s actually inside, they’re often more expensive and some of their products are more sugar than spices 👎 A jar of cumin, coriander, or cinnamon from Schwartz will set you back about €3, while Tesco’s own brand spices are €1 — a third of the price. My main issue with them though is their seasoning mixes. Some have sugar or maltodextrin (a type of sugar) as the very first ingredient, which means you’re getting more sugar than spice — which I think people just wouldn’t expect when picking up a spice mix - and still paying over €3 for it. Compare that to Tesco’s own Chinese Five Spice, which is just spices, no sugar, and only €1. This is why I’ll always say no to Schwartz and go for an own-label version — or even better, head to an Asian supermarket where the value is even better.
