@donaldsdoggiehave: When you look at Mila, you see a beautiful and happy dog. But what you don’t see is the truth she carried: heartworm, Lyme disease, tick disease, a fractured pelvis with nerve damage that left her unable to defecate on her own, a tail fracture, and kidney damage from the Lyme disease. Her nerve damage had become neurological, her wheezing came from heartworms, and her kidneys were failing. She was only two years old and wearing a collar when she was found. Worst of all, when she was discovered, she was being mounted by a dog twice her size while other larger males waited their turn. So many people looked away, her “owners” clearly didn’t care and the world failed her. But from the moment she was found, we made sure she knew love. We made sure her belly was full, that she had somewhere safe to sleep, and promised that she would never be r@ped again and that her pain and suffering would finally come to end. Mila, we’re sorry we found you too late. We’re sorry this world wasn’t kinder to you. But your life mattered. You were seen. You were cherished. You were loved. Sometimes God places an animal in your path not to save their life, but to end their suffering and show them love before they leave this world. That is what we were able to do for Mila. Rest in paradise, sweet girl.
