Interestingly when they ruled Malta they introduced modern plantation slavery as we know it on the New World there on their sugar plantations. People forget that the plantation slavery system originated on Cyprus and was copied to the New World and not the other way around.

Can you talk about how the Catholic Church were the first oppressors, especially in Ireland? I went to Catholic school for 15 years. The Catholic Church seems benevolent, but they act like a vestige of the Roman Empire. They don’t give a sh*t about Christ or Christians.

Thanks Ali, I’ve learned that religion has been used for millennia as a reason to invade & exploit countries resources. Religion is mainly about peace & love for fellow humans. The powerful use religion as an excuse to cover the underlying reality of Power & Greed. Propaganda being the primary weapon of the wars we humans have been dying in for the rich & powerful. I also find it curious that most history books are based on wars which we celebrate during anniversaries of famous battles & it’s “Heroes”. This carries on today with news services throwing shadows on Muslims & the like creating a polarising & divisive narrative about other cultures but also within our societies. The human condition perhaps🤔
