lol it's funny how all these kids that were born yesterday come to talk about Lagos that we lived many years before they were born. Jakande built many estates however majority of what he built are in a state of disrepair and dilapidated. Lagos is still paying off the debts Jakande borrowed to pay for those buildings. I appreciate what he did but the sort of development we've seen in Lagos since 1999 dwarfs what Jakande tried to accomplish. Most of the institutions we have today LASTMA, LAMATA etc were created by Tinubu.

Jakende actually built lagos and at a time the then governor of old imo state Dr Sam mbakwe visited him for financial help to develop imo state, but he didn't rather he gave him an idea on how to raise funds which mbakwe applied and it worked out for him, which made mbakwe also the man who built imo state as well. This is real history.

You're absolutely right, Lateef Jakande was the true architect of modern Lagos, building upon the foundation laid by the Federal Government when Lagos was designated the capital of Nigeria. He spearheaded the development of low-cost housing and established schools across the city to serve its growing population. Jakande was also on the brink of launching a metro line project before it was halted by a military intervention. His successor, Mudashiru, continued his legacy by modernizing the educational infrastructure Jakande had put in place. Lagos has long been fortunate to have visionary leaders often referred to as "Action Governors." Among them, Marwa stood out as the last before Tinubu, notably empowering the masses with the introduction of Keke Marwa to alleviate poverty. Tinubu made commendable efforts during his tenure, but ultimately left Lagos burdened with significant debt.

I left lagos in 1985 and returned in 1994. Before God and man ,I did not recognise or believed where I was . I kept asking my friends,What happened ?
