@sheisapaigeturner: It feels nearly impossible because that’s the way it was set up. It wasn’t meant to be possible to do both. ##workingmom##millennialmom##wfhmom##sahmlife
It truly is designed for one person to run everything within the home/children and one away.

It’s impossible to be a working mom and it’s impossible to support a family on one income. What are we supposed to do?

Emily :
I’m a stay at home mom and my oldest started middle school this year - I was spending 3 hours a day between the elementary and middle school car rider lines. My husband did not want him riding the bus because he worries about what could go wrong, but I signed him up after explaining that I was literally not spending hours of my day in lines. I may not have a job, but I’m running a household and working on my masters degree and I’m not willing to give up 3 hours of my day.

And then to get them the things they need like speech therapy etc. you need the two incomes. It's a rock and a hard place.

It’s impossible and yet we somehow do it anyway and then get gaslighted about how impossible what we are very much doing, is to do

It does feel impossible. Figuring out the logistics alone is ridiculous. Working moms are amazing!

Not to mention, everything is so expensive. Even if I could get a nanny or after school care, it's too expensive to offset the amount of hours I actually can work. It's cheaper for me to not work than to pay someone else to watch my kids

Hi :
Having kids is much easier when one spouse has a full time job and the other stays home full time. Or at least has a flexible job that’s run on his/her own schedule. We can complain till we’re blue in the face but that’s the truth.

It’s SO HARD. My boss is 100% flexible as well and I just leave early for pickup and then log on later when he is in bed but HOW is anyone doing this that doesn’t have flexibility??? And don’t even get me started on single parents

We have five kids. Went from three to five overnight and they’re in three separate schools. The oldest two have activities. Oldest and two of the three toddlers have therapies. Visitations. It’s insane. I pull those late nights all the time because of it

the expectations of parents (and most of the weight of that expectation falls on moms) has also grown so much since I was a kid! Kids are never unsupervised, parents asked to be more proactive in education, etc
