@woodlarkblog: ghosts made from vintage fabric doilies 👻 I thrifted these large fabric doilies and knew they’d be perfect as floating ghosts for halloween. I’m using the same homemade glue/starch mixture that I used when I made those cheesecloth ghosts a couple years ago. These are fun because they retain their shape. You can keep and store them at the end of the season or simply wash the doilies and reuse them. To make: Make your glue mixture (1:2 ratio of cornstarch and water) heat on low in a sauce pan until it just starts to thicken. Place something round (like a ball) on top of your jar. You may need to cover it with wrap to prevent the fabric from sticking to it. Soak the doily in the glue mixture and wring out. Open and drape over the jar. Let dry overnight then add fabric eyes and use a needle and thread to hang up #DIY #upcycledcrafts #halloweencrafts #cottagecore
