@larissanoel11: Advocate for yourself and your mental health like no one else will! #breastcancersurvivor #chemotherapy #selfexamssavelives #doublemastectomy #cancertok
Hey, I’m worried about a reoccurrence as well and I’ve also had a double mastectomy. Why didn’t you get ultrasound or MRI instead of going straight to biopsy?

So proud of you for advocating for yourself. Fellow pink sister survivor here. I hate that they don’t give us scans. It’s like no scans until you have symptoms but likely if you are having symptoms, it could be stage IV. It’s so frustrating sometimes. So glad your biopsy was clear- peace of mind is priceless.

I was diagnosed in July at age 37. I had to learn very quickly how to advocate for myself—it’s frustrating but so necessary! 🙏

Absolutely we have to advocate for ourselves!! I had a very similar situation around Christmas last year. Since I had DIEP & regained feeling it did hurt a lot worse than the first time. 😬 I had two spots they ended up being epidermoid cysts thankfully. Peace of mind still worth the pain &…..the POTs flare the numbing agent sent me into 🫠

This is exactly what I’m dealing with. I had stage 1 bc last year. I felt something around the same spot as my cancer and went in for an ultrasound, dr said it’s fat necrosis. I still don’t feel 100% and I don’t think I ever will, that’s the awful part.

Hi survivor warrior friend. Great advice! We do get our scares from time to time don’t we? Glad to hear your lump was non-cancerous! Blessings to you.

I felt a lump 3 mos after my reconstruction. My plastic surgeon was sure it was fat necrosis but ordered an ultrasound for my peace of mind. I had an ultrasound along with a mammogram which was awkward since I had a double mastectomy and thankfully it was confirmed fat necrosis. 🙏 Glad you advocated for yourself

This is a huge silver lining in my bc treatment… I have become very good at self advocacy. I now understand that doctors are human just like me. They are experts but they also are working with limited knowledge. The doc-patient relationship is a partnership.

Thank God it was benign. Why wouldn't they do an Ultrasound? I had lumpectomy so I have my scans every 6mo and we are watching some cysts on the non bc side. Bless all your nerves and what you went through waiting for it all.
