literally experienced this first hand, where I was the one left by two friends because I was crumbling and then healing and they couldnt figure out what was going on with me because I wasn't being the people pleaser I always had been, but was showing I was having my own problems.

My ex-friend stopped talking to me because I expected the same level of care and compassion I gave him when I was going through my own problems. He was benefitting from my people pleasing and empathy but pulled back when I actually stood up to him. Crazy.

Interesting. I had a crisis and got dumped by my friends. I was forced to heal. I had to change. They didn’t know how to be my friend anymore

this is something I did notice about living in residential surrounded by people who were also healing vs being home surrounded by the friendships where we are all at diff stages of it and how it was easier in residential and much harder to do the work consistently because of the surrounding support group
