That’s step 1 Just reading the Scripture is not the same as knowing God. Nowhere does the Word say, “Read the Bible and you will know Me.” Instead, the Scriptures were given for instruction and correction (2 Timothy 3:16). To truly know God is to walk in His love as He defines in Jeremiah 22:16: “He defended the cause of the poor and needy, and so all went well. Is that not what it means to know me?” Jesus confirmed that discipleship is proven not by words or study alone, but by action: “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another” (John 13:35). And He set the standard in Matthew 25:41–46, where judgment is based on whether we fed the hungry, clothed the naked, welcomed the stranger, and visited the sick and imprisoned.
This is why we are called to bring people to know the Lord so they may believe, call on His name, and be baptized—first in Spirit, then in water—walking in obedience. From there, true discipleship begins: not through man’s traditions, church buildings, or prayer without action, but by living out Jeremiah 22:16 and Matthew 25:41–46 daily. When we live it, teach it, and multiply it, others come to know Him and reveal Him through love. That is discipleship, that is true worship, and that is how we prove we belong to Him—not by empty religion, but by love in action. 👑🙏
to do Matthew 25:41–46 and to live out Jeremiah 22:16 is exactly what God means by being made perfect in His love. When rooted in this love, we walk in the Spirit, and this defeats sin because love fulfills the law and leaves no room for the desires of the flesh.
