I loved the ending but as someone not into theater the start was a bit rough. They were so pretentious and annoying. They quote plays like all the time. I just wish there were end notes that gave little descriptions about what they quote or what the context is.

I personally loved If We Were Villains! If you go into it remembering they’re pretentious overachieving theater nerds, their characters and actions make a lot of sense.

This book was actually quite good! Even if you aren't into shakespeare it's an easy read...i love stories where everyone is at least a little unhinged and it has an unreliable narrator

I’m reading this book now. I read the Secret History, which is about classics majors going nuts. As soon as I realized this book was about theater kids, I realized why it was shorter. Like, of course theater kids would do some crazy with no time to spare (maybe? I’m only on page 50 and no one has been killed…yet but the casting list just dropped so I feel it’s coming up). I want to see Sharpay Evan-esque character commit a felony.
