I hope I’m not repeating every other comment you’re getting but I also started as a crocheter and 2 things - 1 that cast on is horrible to work in I avoid it at all costs and 2 look into continental knitting it’ll prob feel much more natural holding the yarn in your non-dominant hand 🫶🫶🫶 it’s worth I promise

that kind of cast-on is hard to knit in to, i would suggest a long-tsil cast-on. there's a method where u can hold the yarn in y-shape or one where you can hold one in each hand (i did this one when i went from crochet to knitting)
