velmoraiq Albert Camus was born on 7 November 1913 in Mondovi, French Algeria (now part of Algeria). He grew up in poverty after losing his father during World War I when he was still an infant. His mother worked hard to support the family, and these early struggles deeply shaped his view of life and human suffering.
