People acting shocked that it rains in Thailand is a bit like being surprised there’s sand in the Sahara. It’s literally a tropical rainforest and monsoon climate, rain is basically part of the package deal.

Koh Samui is basically an airport connected to a dual carriageway that takes up the whole one side of a heavily commercialised island, and the other side is being cleared for residential development. It comes as quite a shock after visiting some of the quieter Islands, unless you're after a resort type environment.

No, that’s wrong. Rain season is from September to October, sometimes end of August and beginning of November. But normally it’s dry from mid November until June

Floods every year, instead of rain falling on the interior and going into soil, it falls on the concrete and runs down to Lamai and Chaweng.

waren vor einigen Jahren im März auf Samui...eine Woche zwangsverlängert...Regen, Sturm...totales Chaos. Montag wären wir nach Hause geflogen, Flug wurde gecancelt. Mittwoch durften nach Bangkok fliegen, standen bis Freitag aus standby, Freitag ging es dann "endlich" nach Hause
