Hmmmm, so my Daughter is NICU nurse and they called her in because 2 other nurses had Covid. She had to cancel her hair appointment. She gave her a 12 hour notice, the hair stylist, changed her $140 cancellation fee which was half the price of what the cost would’ve been. I’m sorry but that’s wrong!

As a hair stylist, the energy you give is the energy you receive. I very rarely cancel/reschedule clients, but when I do, I always offer multiple options to reschedule with. I have very few cancellations and no shows. If I’m running behind, I always let my follow on clients know- 15/20 mins may allow them to pick up their prescription before their delayed appt vs after.

It does suck, but you chose this career path. Life happens. Illness, kids, work. My daughter just had an unexpected surgery, I had to cancel my hair apt. She took priority over my grey roots.

Here's a suggestion… If you have somebody no-show, you don't let them rebook. If somebody has called ahead of time to cancel, reschedule them, they were thoughtful of their time and yours.

Nail tech/salon owner. I’m not seeing this from the same point of view. My clients time is just as valuable as mine is. Most of my clients are working/career women. They have very busy schedules too. Money is not the only currency in this discussion.

I had the wrong time down for a nail appt, when I got there late she had left already bc of a stomach issue. Even though she wasn’t there when I was supposed to be, because I arrived late I was charged the 100% no show fee and then had to pay again when I came back in. That was the beginning of the end of that relationship for me. You got sick and left wouldn’t have been there anyway.
