@nepalvisuals: Everest Base Camp isn’t just a campsite, it’s a mini city in the Himalayas. Stretching 1.5 miles across the glacier at 5,364m, it’s home this season to 415 climbers, Sherpas, porters, cooks, and staff. It takes trekkers 8 days and 32 rugged miles from Lukla to reach this buzzing hub, where every meal, tent, and oxygen cylinder is carried in by porters, mules, yaks, or flown in by helicopter. A true logistical masterpiece at the foot of the world’s highest peak. Video Ⓒ: danpatwcf/IG #nepalvisuals #everest #himalaya #everestbasecamp #mountains

The fact everything is carried by sherpa hugely diminishes the achievement .

They should level it and add a 7-11, starbucks, and mcdonalds. Climbers pay 10x, sherpas pay 1/10.

I know the terrain and altitude has to be taken into consideration but if it’s only 32 miles from Lukla to the base camp then how does it take 8 days to cover that distance as that’s only 4 miles per day which if they’re trekking for 8 hours a day equals a walking pace of 0.5mph

They are the living pride of our nation and the silent poetry of the earth. Their presence moves not only Nepalis, but touches the hearts of every soul that beholds them. When the morning sun crowns the snowy peaks with golden light, a happiness awakens within—so pure, so profound—that it feels like a joy never before known, a feeling beyond words, as if the soul itself has been kissed by heaven.
