I love how this animation acknowledges that all the men of the tulpar failed to listen to Anya and help her properly, not just Curly, as they are all guilty of being complacent in Jimmy’s behaviour towards Anya 🙏

the fact that Daisuke was the only one who put up a hand to hear her better because he WOULD listen if given the chance, rather than make her speak louder like Curly and Swansea did. No one ever told him or made it obvious, and he was a young man who lacked the ability to notice subtle cues.

I hate when ppl say "she should have told Swansea or Daisuke!" as if after the crash she told Swansea and he did absolutely nothing! And if she told Daisuke what would he have done? He looks up to all these guys on the ship and wants their approval so the only thing he could even do would be tell curly and then we're back at square one[cry] Yes he probably would have been able to listen and try to support or comfort her bit that's really all he could do. She was the only woman among a ship full of men and they all failed her so horribly.. 💔
