We said goodbye to my Petey 2 weeks ago. Last week we rescued another dog. He does not and never will replace what we lost, but he has already brought us so much joy in the short time we have had him. It is a very strange feeling.

9/14 will be 1 year for my soul boy. I recently saw in my photos that the last photo I have of him with our other dog, who became his very best friend, was yesterday. As I wind down the days to one full year, emotions are flooding back, and that picture has spurned them. What a year it has been, there’s been so many major life moments and good times, I’ve been happy with them, but at the same time, just felt a void, one my soul boy used to fill, there’s been an element of sadness to it all. It’s been so strange. Love Roman with all your heart, I know he doesn’t replace your soul dog, but your soul dog sent him to make you smile, and Roman is trying as hard as he can, and I’d say, succeeding 🙂. Bless you in this journey of healing.
