they will never release it, at least not an unedited version. and even if they do nobody on the list will be prosecuted for their crimes or face any consequences. I've lost all faith in this government and all of it's institutions. I'm not a defeatist, but it just seems unrealistic to expect any honesty or justice from our government.

It's not the vote. It's a vote to have the vote. If the vote to vote passes they actually vote to release the files and we get to see a bunch of people publicly protecting the files.
