With all due respect, as you’ve said yourself in this video, China doesn’t follow the WTO rules and there has been no enforcement of WTO rules. This lead the US to a fork in the road of either using the WTO to take action against China (which has been unsuccessful) or move beyond it to Great Power Competition / realpolitik neo-mercantilism. Why would the US subsidize its main geopolitical rival in the name of protecting a global rules based order that has been demonstrably compromised? How would that serve the average American?

The core mindset of Western culture is to admire strength. Historically, China’s geographically surrounded by plateaus, deserts & oceans. it developed a strong internal cohesion but lacked cultural tradition of outward expansion. That’s why Chinese sayings such as “A gentleman seeks harmony without uniformity” which’s difficult for Western culture to understand. I’m surprised so many people still don’t realize China is open again for tourist visas. Go check it out — you’ll see how friendly everyday Chinese folks are.
