So enmeshed I learned even my body wasn’t mine. Nothing belonged to me, everything came with strings and could be taken away or used against me. I learned I existed for others, to be helpful was to be neutral. Stay out of the way, be quiet and small. Only speak if it’s something she would say or approve of. I tried to be interested in what I was supposed to be interested in, be what I was supposed to be. The pain was so numbing and confusing that I resorted to SH as a child. The first time I had ideation of unaliving myself I was eight. Art was my only escape, the only thing I had complete control over. There is hope and there is healing, but it takes years and each step forward comes with a whole new bag of heartbreaks to explore. The death of everything you knew to be true; the birth of who you were always meant to be

my last conversation with my mom was me sobbing and begging her to see me. Then she insulted me, called my crazy and then hung up on me. She then started her silent treatment and I just blocked her on everything. Its been 10 years and its still just as painful
