@bbcsounds: Angela Rayner admits she paid the wrong amount of tax when she bought her £800,000 flat in Hove. Chris Mason explains the controversy on #BBCNewscast
Wait… she effectively made her son buy her out of her share of the family home, so she could buy a place in Brighton?

Can you imagine her reaction if this had been a Conservative or Reform MP? She’d be the first one screaming for them to resign… mistake or not!

Feel so sorry for poor Ang.
Nothing says devoted caring mother, who is simply trying to do the right thing by her disabled son, quite like raiding his disability trust fund to buy herself a flat by the sea 300 miles away from where he lives with her estranged husband

Claiming the coastal flat as primary resident allows her to avoid full stamp duty, double council tax and gets 100% Capital Gains Relief. The trust can charge her rent for the constituency house and she can claim that in expenses . She’s not made a silly mistake.

So the housing minister doesn’t know the housing laws but has a massive say in how they’re influenced? Sums up our government really

The questions are: Who gave her the original advice. Will she be going after them for providing inaccurate advice. Did the person that provided the advice state “in their opinion, but experts should be consulted” and she ignored that?
