for people who don’t get it, it’s important to understand that anti-cop sentiment is usually not based on individuals. when an institution functions incorrectly and is based on inequality - you have to target the whole group because even the good ones benefit from the bad ones actions. you have to fix and point out the whole system for there to be real change, the generalizations are only used for big picture conversations

Btw the statistic is worse than it sounds. People make it sound like this is reported cases, but it’s actually from an anonymous survey. That means that 40% of cops admitted to behaving violently with their family when they were given anonymity. When there were multiple people conducting the study, the number dropped to 28%
