i had a pleasurable birth. i didn’t birth upright but no complications, no rush, no unwanted people in my home where i birthed, delayed clamping, all the things. i want everyone to have access to this kind of birth but i know we aren’t in our bodies enough or have enough reproductive health to shift the narratives. our work aligns so well. thanks for what you do!!

One of the main reasons I want to be childfree is because I’m terrified of birth. All the pain I’ve heard most women go through. It’s not normal and I love learning about other “options” for birthing.

If ppl say a pleasurable birth is weird and unacceptable, i srsly need them to stop and look themselves in the mirror cuz what person would rather have a woman be in excruciating pain during birth than pleasure, albeit a little weird? Tho ppl like that aren’t the kind who look themselves in the mirror anyway 💔

Ultimately, as with basically everything, I blame Christianity and colonialism. Christianity straight up tells you that childbirth is SUPPOSED to be painful because we “deserve it for talking to the snake and getting us kicked out of Eden”. Colonialism destroyed as much evidence to the contrary as it could 😞
